Interior Styling
Fancy A Change

Many of us get bored with rooms in our homes but just don’t have the budget for a full redesign.

I love working with clients that feel a bit stuck and need ideas to create a new room scheme. A fresh pair of eyes is sometimes needed to visualise the space. Using your existing furniture and by adding a few new accessories you can make some simply changes that will make you fall back in love with your home.

Here are some of my favourite styling ideas to help you change up your home…

Rearrange Your Furniture

If you have a small sitting room like me (with 4 doors and 2 windows!!) you may be limited to how your furniture fits into the space. However, you can still change the room by placing small pieces of furniture in new positions and moving a piece of furniture from another room giving a refreshing change.

Add An Accent Wall

This can be done by adding a dramatic paint colour, wallpaper or even a mural to a wall in your room. Think about the wall you choose carefully and make it the focus in your newly styled space.

Mirror Magic

Mirrors are a great way to make your space look bigger. Why not choose a statement frame for additional impact. Don’t bother hanging it – lead it up against a wall or pop it on your fireplace or cupboard top.

Paint a Piece of Furniture

You might have an old piece of furniture stored away or why not grab an old piece from a car boot sale or online. I recently purchased a slim chest of drawers for £20 and have painted them @Annie Sloan Oxford Navy. This gorgeous blue is perfect in my dining room where I have an accent wall in @Farrow and Ball Scotch Blue.

Pile of Cushions

Soft furnishings are a must! Curtains can be expensive to replace so buy or make new cushion covers, adding a pop of colour and texture to your room. This will make the space cosy and inviting and will refresh your existing furniture.
