Florals & Home Styling A Must!

I was a floral designer for nearly 10 years and Christmas was the busiest time of the year for my business.

It was also my favourite time as a florist. Rich red roses, electric blue viburnum berries, amaryllis, hypericum berries, berried ivy, eucalyptus, larch with cones – beautiful!!

After the year we have had and with the uncertainty of Christmas, I did wonder whether to bother decorating this year and then I thought, why not!

I picked up a small fresh tree which is sitting perfectly in the dining room fireplace, dressed in dark blue, silver and white. Some gorgeous amaryllis sit alongside the dressed round mirror on the dresser and I threw plenty of winter foliage, candle and tea light holders on the deep window ledge to finish the look.

Setting the scene

The lounge fireplace has a very narrow ledge, so I used small vases and recycled glass containers and filled them with berries and foliage and dotted tealight holders through them.

In the end, my Mum and partner came for Christmas lunch which we ate al fresco under a covered area outside the back door.

I had a piece of hessian that I used to cover a couple of outdoor tables. I dressed the table with fir tree & larch branches, cones, berries and lots of candles and tea lights.

Happy Christmas everyone. Here’s hoping for a positive, healthy and safe New Year.
